Veritas Press is a Christian organization dedicated to providing the best classical Christian education materials and services on the market, seeking an experienced warehouse manager to oversee our warehouse activity.
General Description:
Manage and execute all aspects of the warehouse including shipping, receiving, and inventory. Oversee facilities including building maintenance. Continuously improve processes and environment to create cost and time saving efficiencies with consideration of market seasonality.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse
1. Assign tasks and hold the warehouse leads accountable.
2. Implement, maintain, and continuously improve Lean practices in the warehouse.
3. Establish and continuously improve warehouse flow.
4. Ensure cleanliness of the warehouse and workstations.
5. Create, maintain, and continuously improve pick and pack lines.
6. Create, maintain, and continuously improve bin locations setup.
7. Create, maintain, and continuously improve receiving, put away, and restocking flows.
8. Oversee forklift certification.
9. Oversee safety compliance.
10. Evaluate vendors for cost effective supply purchases.
Inventory
1. Assist the purchasing department in aligning inventory levels with projected demand
2. Oversee receiving, put-away, and bin transfers of all inventory in ERP/WMS software.
3. Create, maintain, and continuously improve system for monitoring inventory accuracy to establish a KPI for shrinkage and inventory/invoice adjustments.
4. Oversee physical inventory counts (cycle and full).
Shipping
1. Assign work and hold the Warehouse Staff accountable.
2. Schedule Warehouse Staff.
3. Create and monitor KPI of units shipped per direct and indirect labor hour (UPH).
4. Create, maintain, and continuously improve the system for same day shipping on orders received by 11 AM. Next day if received after.
5. Create, maintain, and continuously improve systems for monitoring shipping accuracy ensuring KPI of 99% shipping accuracy.
6. Evaluate freight vendors for lowest cost and best service.
7. Evaluate shipping carriers for lowest cost and best service.
Single Source
1. Oversee Single Source inventory receiving, packing, and shipping.
Facilities
1. Ensure neat professional appearance of building and grounds.
2. Work with approved vendors for building maintenance.
3. Oversee and evaluate office cleaning vendor(s).
4. Maintain and continuously improve the office environment (e.g. install desks, cabinets, hang requested wall art).

Requirements for all Managers
1. Conduct regular meetings with all immediate subordinate employees to discuss overall business context, plans, and problems; ensure employees understand how their roles and tasks align with organization’s mission and vision; seek inputs/suggestions from subordinate employees.
2. Develop managerial plan for achieving departmental/unit goals.
3. Assign tasks, projects or special assignments clearly so employees know what is required of them, how much, by when and what resources are available for them to use to achieve the task.
4. Appraise how effectively subordinate employees use their judgment and discretion in solving problems; discuss appraisals with them as an ongoing working dialogue.
5. Decide subordinate pay and merit increases within established organization compensation guidelines; communicate pay revisions with them.
6. Coach subordinates to increase their effectiveness in their role.
7. Select new employees from a list of job candidates provided by immediate manager; veto appointments when candidates are judged to be unable to do the work required.
8. Ensure that new employees are effectively oriented and trained into role requirements, working relationships, and company requirements and culture.
9. Make de-selection decisions if employees cannot perform the work required and inform own manager.
10. Make dismissal decisions if employees are found guilty of a serious infraction of the company’s rules and regulations and inform own manager.
11. Continuously improve the systems and processes used to deliver outputs.
12. Request additional staff from own manager.
13. Decide on and/or approve subordinate requests for:

Education:
1. High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Job Specific Requirements:
1. Conversant with the Reformed Faith and Classical Education from a Christian worldview according to the VSA Statement of Faith and Philosophy.
2. Good written and oral communication skills.
3. Able to maintain courteous and professional disposition when dealing with co-workers.
4. Able to work diligently without much direct supervision.
5. Work to constantly expand abilities by gaining further training in areas of weakness.
6. Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
7. Detail Oriented.
8. Proficient in MS Office suite of products.
9. Proficient in G Suite products.
10. Experience with ERP/Warehouse Management software.
11. 5 years of experience.
Physical Requirements
1. Standing, walking, and sitting for long periods of time
2. Extensive typing on QWERTY-style keyboard
3. Extensive viewing of lighted computer monitor
4. Speaking and hearing
5. Reaching and bending
6. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
7. Using hands to perform tasks
8. Working in industrial warehouse conditions (climate controlled) around and utilizing equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and carts
9. Exposure to dust and dirt

1. Biannual review in June and December to be performed by the Vice President of Operations.
